Colt Lyerla a Packer?!?

Colt Lyerla Standing 6'4 is the new Tight End for the Green Bay Packers. Lyerla was born in Hillsboro, Oregon, on November 13, 1992, to Roger and Tammy Lyerla, with the family later moving to Hawaii and then Vancouver, Washington. His parents divorced in 2001, and he moved to Gladstone, Oregon, before moving back to Hillsboro in 2003. In Hillsboro, he attended Hillsboro High School, where he played both football and basketball for the Spartans. On the football team he played both ways as a running back on offense and linebacker on defense, winning a state championship in 2009. That season he was named as The Oregonian's top offensive player at the 5A classification after he ran for 1,543 yards with 26 touchdowns, along with 843 yards and 13 touchdowns receiving as a junior.
During the 2009 season he caught a 61-yard Hail Mary pass at the end of the game against rival Glencoe High School to win the game; the play made ESPN's SportsCenter as the play of the week. The next year as a senior, he rushed for 1,519 yards on 133 carries and was selected as a first team all-state selection by The Oregonian as a running back, and second team as a linebacker. Lyerla was recruited by teams such as the Southern California Trojans, the California Bears, the Miami Hurricanes, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Texas Longhorns, but committed to the University of Oregon while at the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Lyerla had garnered recruiting attention prior to his junior year after performing well during summer recruiting camps, and had offers from over 30 schools before making his commitment.
Lyerla graduated early from high school and enrolled at Oregon in the spring of 2011 so he could take part in spring practices. During the team's spring game he had 3 catches for 37 yards while playing tight end. As a true freshman for the 2011 season,he played tight end and caught 7 passes for 147 yards and 5 touchdowns.
For the 2012 season,Lyerla earned the starting tight end position, and part-way into the season also saw playing time at the running back position. Lyerla finished the season with 25 receptions for 392 yards and 6 touchdowns, and also rushed for 77 yards and 1 touchdown.
In March 2013 Lyerla tweeted in support of a theory that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 was part of a government conspiracy to advance gun control policies. The tweet was denounced by the University of Oregon as "insensitive and offensive." Lyerla later apologized.
During the 2013 season Lyerla missed the game against Tennessee and was then suspended for the game against Colorado before quitting the team on October 6, 2013. He ended the season with 3 runs for 17 yards, including a touchdown, and 2 receptions for 26 yards in two games. After leaving the team he was arrested and later pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of cocaine.
I can't wait to see him prove himself in the up and coming NFL season...

John John Florence Surf Ledged

A celebrated surfing prodigy for more than a decade, 20-year old Hawaiian North Shore local John Florence with an avg heat score of 13.03 is hardly a rookie.Better known by the surf industry as “John John,” Florence entered the surfing stage at a mere 5 years old, garnering his skills at one of the most renowned surf breaks in the world conveniently situated literally in his backyard, the Banzai Pipeline. Known for his dominating tube riding skills, striking aerial technique and effortless style, John Florence is no stranger to big wave surfing.

At 13, John Florence became the youngest surfer to ever compete at the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, demonstrating a remarkable performance against surfers twenty years his senior. In 2011, Florence followed an impressive rookie performance at Pipeline in 2010 with an unprecedented victory as the 2011 Vans Triple Crown Champion at age 19. In 2012, John earned ASP Rookie of the Year, took his first WTC title at Billabong Pro Rio and placed 4th in the ASP World Tour Title rankings.

John Florence narrows the field, merging competitive surf prowess with impeccable freeriding ability that is paving the way for a new generation of surfing. Often touted as the next Kelly Slater, the personable Florence remains incredibly humble despite his early success.
Florence's signature move is getting shacked at pipe, and his worst injury was a broken back. He also enjoys skateboarding, snowboarding and drawing. Most recently, Florence changed sponsors ,joining Hurley International, after surfing for O'Neill since he was six years old.

John is the oldest of three surfing Florence brothers including Nathan, 18, and Ivan 16. The boys learned how to surf from their mother Alexandra while growing up in Hale'iwa in an ocean side beach house at the Banzai Pipeline.John John claims to have rode a surfboard with his dad at the age of 6 months then on his own at age 3 I guess you could say John was born to surf.

Top 5 Super Bowl Upsets

Top 5 Super Bowl Upsets.

5) Super Bowl IV: Kansas City Chiefs 23, Minnesota Vikings 7

In the final meeting before the merger, the heavy underdog Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings 23-7, thus giving the AFL the historic last laugh in its head-to-head matchups with the NFL. Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson was named the game’s MVP, but their smothering defense was the real star of the game. Led by defensive end Buck Buchanan and linebacker Willie Lanier, the Chiefs held the Vikes to one touchdown on 67 total offensive yards, forcing three fumbles and picking off three passes. The Chiefs completed their domination with Otis Taylor’s high-stepping 46-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to secure the upset win.

4) Super Bowl XXXII: Denver Broncos 31, Green Bay Packers 24

It was billed as a battle between two great gunslinging quarterbacks: an aging John Elway vs. the hot shot, Brett Favre. Instead, a running back with a migraine led the Denver Broncos to a 31-24 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers. Terrell Davis rushed for 157 yards and scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner with just under two minutes remaining in the contest. The victory finally earned Elway his first Super Bowl ring after suffering through three crushing Super Sunday defeats. It wasn’t his finest performance, but Elway’s airborne third-down scramble late in the game has become part of Super Bowl lore.

3) Super Bowl XXXVI: New England Patriots 20, St. Louis Rams 17

Many experts believe this game put Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on the football map, as they pulled off a 20-17 miracle over the high-powered St. Louis Rams. They went on to win two more Super Bowl titles in 2003 and 2004 and became one of the most prolific dynasties in recent NFL history. Brady was a relative unknown before taking over the starting quarterback reins from Drew Bledsoe, who went down with an injury early in the season. Many questioned whether he had poise to handle the pressure of playing in a Super Bowl, and quietly, Brady went punch-for-punch with the “Greatest Show on Turf.” With the score tied and 90 seconds away from overtime, Brady effortlessly drove the Pats down to the Rams 30-yard line, thus allowing Adam Vinatieri to kick a 48-yard game-winning field goal as time expired and giving New England its first NFL championship.

2) Super Bowl III: New York Jets 16, Baltimore Colts 7

The strongest image from this game has to be Jets quarterback Joe Namath wagging his finger above his head as he ran off the Orange Bowl field. Three days earlier, he boldly predicted a victory over the mighty Baltimore Colts. It was a collective effort, as the Jets defense frustrated the Colts by forcing them into turning the ball over all day. The New York offense consisted of only one touchdown run from running back Matt Snell and three field goals from kicker Jim Turner. The Colts did make a late push, as an aging Johnny Unitas came off the bench to lead them to their only score. But it was too little, too late, and the AFL had captured its first major victory over the NFL.

1) Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants 17, New England Patriots 14

All sports fans remember where they were when the New York Giants spoiled the New England Patriots ride to a perfect season. Our jaws dropped as Eli Manning led the Giants downfield in that memorable final drive. Who could forget that catch from David Tyree or the ensuing touchdown grab from Plaxico Burress, as the Giants shocked the world with a 17-14 victory? It quickly became a Super Bowl classic—and one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

California Chome Lost it all!

California Chrome has lost it all folks to Tonalist. But to me it looked like the win was given away. The jockey Victor Espinoza did not ride that horse as hard has he should of and you can definitely tell he was holding back. Chrome had its eye on that Triple Crown but the 35 year drought looks like it will continue.
The last time a Triple Crown was won was back in 1978 by Affirmed the Triple Crown has only been won 11 time sense 1919 those other winners include Barton 1919, Gallant Fox 1930,Omaha 1935,War Admiral 1937,Whirlaway 1941,Count Fleet 1943,Assault 1946,Citation 1948,Secretariat 1977.
California Chrome is definitely the working class horse ,owners and breeders Perry Mortin and Steve Coburn still go to work everyday to their regular jobs.Chrome is trained by a father son duo Art and Alan Sherman.
California Chrome sire is Not For Love and Dam is Love The Chase ,he was born February 18, 2011.His earnings are $3,452,650 so far.

Manger Winnings include
Santa Anita Derby (2014)
San Felipe Stakes (2014)
California Cup Derby (2014)
King Glorious Stakes (2013) Graduation Stakes (2013)
Sadly the triple crown will not be added to this list... Questions should be asked did the horse get tired or was the jockey bought to keep that horse from giving it his all? We may never know but for now this is a very disappointing loss.

Most Expensive Footballer

Christiano Ronaldo Portugal's star footballer and country's heartthrob returned to practice today despite his injury's Tendinosis in his Left knee and a muscle problem in his left thigh.
Ronaldo forward for Club Real Madrid could possibly be Portugal's only hope of getting a World Cup title. Ronaldo's career achievements have been shocking to the soccer world.
Ronaldo began his career as a youth player for Andorinha, where he played for 2 years, before moving to C.D. Nacional. In 1997, he made a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal. Ronaldo caught the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who signed him for £12.2 million (€15 million) in 2003. In 2004, Ronaldo won his first club honour, the FA Cup. In 2007, Ronaldo was the first player in England to win all 4 main PFA and FWA awards.            I am certainly looking forward to his performance in Brasil at the 20th Fifa World Cup.
The Action begins June 12th 2014!

14 year old Skateboarding Legend

Who is Tom Schaar? Well this will probably be the last time that question will ever be asked. Schaar is a Malibu, California native, Born September 14th ,1999 at age 14 is the 2nd youngest X Games Gold Medal winner. This Skateboarding phenom is landing tricks not even Shaun White can pull off. He is the youngest to ever land a 900 and the first to land a 1080. Which evidently pained off because that was the trick that earned him the Gold Medal in Austin Tx yesterday.
Fellow competitor Bob Bergquist said at 5'3 he's a spinning machine and he can't wait to learn some new stuff from him.
Tom says when he's not skating he's surfing with his older brother John or buying new boards with the money he wins from his competitions.
This young man is definitely one to watch out for I have a feeling we will be hearing his name a lot in the years to come.

Tom's Other Big Achievements
