Was Rocky Balboa the last American Boxer?

When you hear the words "Yo Adrian" what comes to mind? Jogging down the street in heather grey sweatpants and a sweat band? Or maybe you feel like holding the American flag over you head as a Russian stands in defeat? Whatever comes to mind we can all agree that Rocky Balboa is just about every red blooded Americans hero. In these movies we learn about coming from nothing earning what seems to be rightly yours and right when we think everything is figured out things begin to happen and it starts to look like you life is falling apart right in front of you eyes.In Rocky III he looses a great friend and that unstoppable feeling as he gets defeated after a long winning streak. Just when all seems to be lost he has people that believe in him, fear may be trying to take over but in the end he learns that every fight he's won was rightly his.Rocky IIII comes a very big loss as Apollo Creed dies fighting what seems to be an unhuman Russian.Rocky definitely shows character and will power every American needs. All in All everyone should sit down and watch these films and try and not live a better life after your done. Along with a great story line we also see a true athlete a sports icon and definitely a sports hero!
Boxing in America has suffered in popularity sense the 1980s. And our professional American boxers are at an all time low. The #1 heavyweight champion for the last 8 years has been a Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko is a phenomenal athlete defending his title 16 times in those 8 years. But Come on America Lets take that title back. Boxing is a very underrated sport here in the states but it hasn't always been that way back in the 1920s and 30s ,40s,50s,60s,70s and 80s American boxers dominated the Championship titles. Some of those Boxers were Archerie Moore, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Frazier, Henry Armstrong, not to mention Cassius Clay and Jack Johnson. All of these notable phenomenal athletes were all from America. Now the boxing scene is dominated by countrie's such as the Ukraine, Germany, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, and Japan. Great athletes come from all nations but there will only be a great American story. Who will be the next Rocky Balboa and bring those titles home? Floyed Mayweather jr. is a great American boxer that has given our nation some hope, he is currently undefeated as a Walter Weight.
